The construction that is renamed as " Uzun YUva ( Long Slot) " by the inhabitants consists of a single column and was constructer in the Roman Period in the honor of Menandros. Since the column represents the Korinth style, it is enlisted as one of the most fobulous works of ancient Mylasa.
The Tomb of Hekatamnos: It is assumend that this tomb of 2400 years old belongs to King hekatamnos of Karia. Furthermore, it is recognized as one of the most important archelogical findings in Anatolia over the last 100 years. The King was buried into tomb together with his private belongings and thus, the tomb was surrounded with massive walls that were embellished by high relief sculptures, wich all seem like a masterwork on their own.
UZUNYUVA / LONG SLOT
According to the inscription, the column is set for Menadros that has great profits to the city and it has no relation with any temple. Also, on the Korinth heading, Menedros’ portraitstatue takes place. And it is the most historical artifact of Milas.
It has been broached that this grave belongs to Caria King Hekatomnos and is for 2400 years, and it has been charactenzed that it is the archeological discovery of century in Anatolia. The King was buried into a art magnificent marble sarcophagus which was decorated with massive and four sides high bas relief sculptures in grave.
